No , and we live in a totally Spanish village 25km north of Granada city and have done for 15 years. We are the only English in the village and we love our life here. The only thing we missed was English tea bags.

Ordcons - you seem to assume that we're all the same and need the company of fellow Brits.

I'm proud of being British, but I enjoy the company of other nationals, particularly the Spanish & Dutch.

Too often you find that the restaurants are full of Brits.  Also too often they're the ones who're being badly behaved!

OrdCons - I love the company of my British friends too and most others you meet, but there's always a few...but in general we're a friendly bunch, so pleased you've had a good experience.

We try to eat local foodstuffs and traditions.  Many years ago we stayed at a rural Spanish hotel outside the tourist trail and were initially disappointed by the breakfast buffet - an absence of the standard bacon, eggs, sausages etc.  The locals seemed content though with fresh chopped tomato on bread (amongst a few other things, cheeses etc) so we tried it and wow, immediately converted (it never tastes as good though in the UK).

I don't suppose they serve such simple Spanish dishes on the marina at Puerto Banus these days!
