If you want UK channels from Sky, but don't want to pay and don't want the Sky movies or Sky sport, take a look here http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/ . If you already have a digibox and a UK home address, all you need to do is pay £20 for a card, shove it in the slot of a box and ring Sky to activate it (in the UK), then take it to sunny Spain on your next visit. If you have any problems with the card, don't ring from Spain as the T&C's specifically state that the card is for use within the UK only and they will deactivate it.
This is the Sky we are going to use in our apartment.

You will still need a friendly TV engineer/installer to fix a dish to pick up the Astra satellite.

I found an ad on the net (May 2007) for TV installation for a one-off payment of €459 (10 channels) or €559 (20 channels). The contact details are:Telephone Darren on 00 34 618 24 44 86.
There is also a personal recommendation (from someone on Dream Hills 2, Costa Blanca South, I think):
"Daz installed our TV system whilst we were out in Spain and he has done a brilliant job even down to the cable ties being equidistant and facing the same way. No ugly inside cabling, fantastic value for money and if you have any problems he'll get back to you."

With no monthly payments, it should be worth investigating.

If a communal dish is being installed, what sort of dish is it? If it is a Sky dish then you can get an octo lnb which allows 8 connections to the one dish. All you need to do then is find someone to run the cabling and plug in your own Sky box (we are taking ours as hand luggage). With the £20 card from Sky, you can get (checked at the weekend):
