Constitution day.
The Comments |
Yesterday, the 6th in December was our Constitution Day here in Spain, just in case some of you did not know: 6th of December 1978, was the day when the spanish people approved ( 87% of votes in favour) by mean of a referendum the Constitution of 1978 after Franco´s period, which is in force till present days. It is inspired on the Human Rights Declaration.
It has not been amended since then. The part regarding the suceesion to the throne is being changed soon in order to avoid sex discrimination.

Belated congratulations (I presume) for your Constitution Day, Maria.
I trust you approve of the post-Franco situation. Of course, I speak as the grandson of a member of the International Brigade (1936-39), so my position on Franco would, I hope, be fairly self-evident.
Mark.
