Hi guys....
I need your help please.
My husband and I are due to fly out to Spain on Wednesday (19th). We appreciated that as it was Easter, most shops etc would be closed Good Friday through til Easter Monday.
However, we hadn't bargained for the fact that the shops could also be closed on Wednesday & Thursday?
We will be in Teulada, Northern Costa Blanca. Is anyone able to kindly confirm whether, most importantly, supermarkets will be open on Wednesday/Thursday?
In addition, what about hypermarkets such as Eroski and shops selling household goods .... will they be open? Or should we assume not?
Thanks in advance for your help

We fly out to Alicante area tomorrow and my Brother who lives nearby says all the spermarkets are shut Wed/Thur & Fri
As this is a very important religious holiday in Spain, I think ALL the shops will be shut.
The restaurants will do a good trade!

I too get the impression that nothing will be open from the Thursday, although I did wonder if Eroski in Calpe may be open. They do seem to open when other places are shut.In Altea, which is just a little south of Teulada I am expecting everything to be shut. Its a bit tricky for bread and milk !
All the best

Don't know about other places but Carrefour in the Costa Blanca are OPEN on the following holidays in March:
Com.
Therefore, I assume most other places are closed on these dates?

Thanks Fibby .... not what I wanted to hear, but thanks anyway.
To add to our 'woes' ~ the builders who are putting in our new kitchen... who PROMISED it would be ready for our arrival on Wednesday, have now let us know this evening that the granite worktops have not arrived and so have not been put in. Apparently the builders are "sincerely sorry" ?? So sorry that they didn't let us know until we pushed for an answer thi evening !!!!!
The knock on effect of that........NO kitchen sink, NO cooker & NO fridge freezer!
So....even IF the supermarkerts WERE open, we'd have no appliances to store or cook our food

For those of you panicking, travelling tonight or tomorrow. don't worry!
If you need groceries, Carrefour, Costa Blanca, Playa Flamenca, are open EVERY DAY over the Easter holiday until 9pm
Not sure about the DIY places if you are coming here to do bits & bobs to your place, but you can eat/drink!
Thought I would allay anyone's fears!
Regards,

It's lovely AGAIN today, but our bank BBVA IS closed on Easter Monday and so is Mercadona and Lidl, but Carrefour is open.
All the 'offices' ie Administrators, builders etc are closed on Easter monday too.
