electiricity problems
The Comments |
When Endesa put the meter in they got it wrong saying that we were already connected. When they eventually put a meter in they did not change the records so we are paying for someone elses electricity. ( They are using more every two months than we have used in 9 so we are not happy) We have explained a number of time and a electricity worker has inspected the meter and said it is the wrong one but it is not his job to get it changed it is the office's. We spent a morning in the office and they said that they would send out someone to check the meter again to ensure we had the right one on the computer but they never came.
Any suggestions as to what we can do? Can we sue and charge costs and compensation or are we stuck?
Thanks

Probably not a very satisfactory response, but how about stopping paying the bill? That way they will disconnect you and the person you think is using your electricity will soon protest to Endessa about being cut off. Drastic measures I know, but it could sort the problem sooner rather than keep going around in circles.

Thought of that but they may just cut off the correct meter rhen we would be without power and still be accruing charges for power we have not used.

Do you have access to the meter cabinet? On our urb the president has the keys, but owners may request them if they need to check anything. Each meter should have a serial number on it, I think the Endessa bills also include this number on your bill. If you isolate all electrics in your property at the breaker board, your meter should show no movement over a 5- 10 minute period. Once you know which meter is yours, take the serial number and compare it against your bill. Do you have a digital camera? this can all be used as evidence to Endessa to show you are/ may e being charged from the wrong meter.

Thanks. The wife has taken photos of the meter etc. Looks like we may have no option but to go through our Spanish lawyer now. At least we have some info and evidence. Thanks for replying.
Alan.
