Anyone tried this ?

They say they are not re-broadcasting just making your computer seem like it's in the UK

For £69 you get 3 months British TV.

i may have mentioned this before, but you can get the internet streams and iplayers working in spain for free - by using a UK proxy server - google it.

this service makes it very easy by not having to manually change your net settings al the time...

liveuktv.com did the same also, but they were stopped and people lost their subscriptions....

Hi satandpcguy

I was just going to add this to the (very tiring) thread for Telmicro but though a new thread dedicated to alternatives was a good idea.

Pleased you're posting info in here for us all, thanks.

People need to realise that streaming tv is very bandwidth hungry. If you have a telephone adsl line it should all be well and good so long as you are "unlimited", but beware..... Internet providers are increasingly imposing limits on the amount of data you can use in the course of a month, some as little as 1 Gigabyte per month. A 60 minute episode on the iPlayer can use up over 1/2 of your monthly limit in that scenario. Once you go over yourlimit, you may either be prevented from accessing the internet until your next billing date, or you may be charged for all the extra data you use. Dongles are by far the most expensive, especially if you are using a UK dongle in Spain. Excess usage can work out from about £4.50 per megabyte (1024 in a gigabyte), so that is one big bill to return home to for watching Corrie a couple of times .

You can download an internet TV player that allows you to view dozens of channels from around the world including Sky News.  Apparently, it seems to work very well.

Most of them will freeze from time to time and re buffer. Not as good as TV but better than no footie.
At least it has brought a smile to Georgias face.

Anyone out in Spain tried Zattoo?  You get a good list of channels. ITV, BBC, Ch4 and 5 plus others.  Works very well in UK with very little pausing due to buffering.  Don't know if it will work in Spain due to the need for a proxy server which is a pain to set up.  Plus, proxy servers from UK are continually popping up adverts which is very annoying.
Just a thought for all those of you missing your Corrers fix.

Myself and a friend who lives in Denmark have been looking into ways of receiving good quality Live UK TV without a dish and mesh or a hefty subscription for the past few months!!

What we found was that its possible to create a tunnel that allows your computer to spoof software and applications into thinking its really located in a different part of the world which in turn allows things like Zattoo UK, HULU, BBCiplayer, 4oD to run on your system! You can then use IR senders to send the signals to your TV so you can sit and watch LIVE UK TV on the sofa!

No massive satellite dishes, No wire mesh aerials, No illegal subscriptions that can be cut off at any minute and no huge bills for installation and monthly subscription!!

I won't go into too much technical info.. everything you need to know is on the website at: [vpnuk dot info] all you need to get started is a decent ADSL connection!

Regarding Proxies You can get round some websites like the iplayer by using normal proxies, unfortunately proxies are slow and cause a lot of buffer, they're unreliable and always prone to disappearing just when you need them most. Intelligent programs like Zattoo will not work at all under a normal proxy, it uses whats known as Geographical Location Awareness, in other words it ignores what your browser is saying and looks straight at all incoming and outgoing TCP connections, if you try it in Spain you'll only ever get Spanish TV, same applies to Germany, Switzerland, Denmark etc.. This is where the tunnel comes in, logging into the UK based VPN from anywhere in the world will give you the UK version of Zattoo, thats Live UK TV for free and its 100% legal!! BBC1 BBC2 BBC3 BBC4 ITV STV CH4 FIVE and loads more!! it even has regional BBC TV

Zattoo, iplayer and Hulu broadcast range are between 500-800KBPS using the H.264 or On2 VP6 codecs so its very high quality.

For more info and a list of downloads and what channels you can get take a look at the site: [vpnuk dot info]

For all the football you need try [footballstreaming info] its 100% free and works a treat!
