The Comments |
Hi,
Have just received my .B.I. bill, I have seen a post on E.O.S. in
the last few days which has a translation of this bill,BUT I now
cannot find where it is.
Can anyone tell me please.
Also my catastral has 12918.82, does this translate as twelve thousand nine
hundred and eighteen euros 82 cents.???????????????

Gypsy have you done a search for Spanish Taxes a lot of info there. Have you received the bill in Spain? My take is that it is one hundred and twenty nine thousand and 18 euros. We have not received our I.B.I. will chase it when we next get back to Spain but if they sent it to you, I might ask our keyholder to look out for it for us. Pat

To pat and roy,
The figure you quoted to me seems a lot .That is
more than I paid for my place. No I did not
receive it in spain, I got it from the post room, just as well as
I am going back to england early saturday morning, just gives
me enough time to pay it.Will not be back in spain till
next year some time.

Gypsy - do you live in an apartment? The amount given as catastral does it relate to what you've got to pay? Don' t know what the rate is this year, or is it for last year as it is a bit early.
Was having a conversation with Irene last night and her Valor Catastral doesn't relate to what she paid for her apartment.
I wondered if you live in a block of apartments then you pay a proportion each rather than just paying the annual percantage of what is your declared value of the property. That could be one reason why your VC is so much lower than the value of property.
Is this the first IBI payment you've made?

Posted on the other thread about this - Valor Catastral is nothing to do with what you paid for your property. It is the rateable value by which the council works out how much IBI (council tax, rates, call it what you will) you pay. From time to time councils will review the valor catastral - and put the IBI up accordingly!
