On the news this morning ....

XL Airways fold leaving 1000's of passengers stranded!

For those who have paid via credit card, get on the phone to your credit card company NOW!

Same for those who have paid through an ABTA travel agent, get on the blower to them NOW!

For any flight starting XLA

Also, you can phone the CAA.

CAA Emergency Helpline: 0289 185 6547 or outside UK: 0044 289 185 6547

or XL Airways: 0800 068 8991 or outside UK: 0044 208 242 4783

I would imagine that the XL Airways number will be very, very busy
.

For those that are in Spain right now and are due to return via XL Airways today, then the CAA will be your best bet!

Their number is below.

I took a look at their website and what is interesting is that the German and French arm of the company are not affected and still trading!!

Hmm!

Naughty of them!

Because XL Leisure Group has gone into administration.

ALL XL Airways flights are cancelled, so they shouldn't be taking any bookings!

Wait a mo ....

So are they tryng to say ....

"Anyone who booked through XL.com cannot fly,in addition anyone who booked a flight via and ABTA agent cannot fly, however anyone who booked through fr.xl.com (France) or de.xl.com (Germany) can still fly!"

I know they are saying on the website that both the French and German divisions are not affected, however ALL their aircraft are grounded!?!?!?!

The French and German sites are still trading, although the Irish and Australian ones don't show. Both sites show th XL fleet, so not sure what is going on?

The French & German parts of the group have been acquired by an investment bank & will continue trading.   Take a look at the news page on a web site such as www.bbc.co.uk for reasonably up to date position/links to other news web sites on the situation.
