Hello,
Could anyone out there tell me when a vivienda contract kicks in? Some things I've read say that anything over six months is classed as a vivienda, while others say it's anything over a year...
Can anyone put me out of my misery?!

There is no legal classification of rental contracts just subject to number of months. The classificatorty criterium is the PURPOSE of the contract.
For instance.- If you rent for two years but the contract expresses explicit or implicitly that is not your habitual dwelling, you will have a contrato de temporada which is not subejct to obligatory time extensions up to 5 years.
So, if you want to get a vivienda contract, mention that in the text of the contract.
