Phase 2 apartments AGM
The Comments |
Good afternoon,
I am new to the forum, but I have lived in Spain for 8 years, 3 of which as a property owner. I bought off plan in 2002 (a two bedroom two bathroom apartment (130sqm) in the centre of Arroyo de la Miel - Costa del Sol) and in 2006 I moved in.
I have now received my first IBI bills and per year I am paying more than 400 euros. Is this normal? Can someone inform me how these rates are being calculated?
Yours sincerely
Bard Vos

IBI: Cadastral value of the house x taxing rate of the Local Council ( Every local council has the right to choose the value out of a minimum-maximum segment legally stablished by a National Law on the governing of the Local Treasure Departments).
Best,
Maria

For the size of your property, I think the IBI is more or less on a par with neighbouring Torremolinos. Are you registered on the padrón at the town hall? I don't know if Arroyo (Benalmádena) does, but Torremolinos gives a discount to registered residents. Also on water / basura, although you only get the discounts now once you've been registered for min. 2 years.
