Some good news though!
"All cardholders will still be able to use Nationwide credit and debit cards within Europe without incurring any fees."

They also give a very good rate of exchange when using their bank cards to withdraw cash in Spain.

What is going on at theNationwide I have to ask?
I have just received my statement with new t&c's inside (no mention that I could see of about ending free foriegn transactions). The biggest thing I noticed is the interest is changing. We are now at (again) historically low interest rates, so what are they doing? Putting them up 1%!!! This is the same as American Express did last year, raising from 12.9%- 18.9%. Luckily I don't have outstanding balances, but that is a heck of a lot extra for some people to be paying!!
