There has been a great deal of concern, even uproar in the UK following the release of Google street view this week.
I have actually enjoyed viewing my old stomping grounds back in the UK. It amazes me that after living in Sheffield for nearly 20 years not a lot appeared to change, however I am out of the country for a few years and it has changed completely. I showed my parents and they were able to view the houses they grew up in, so today we have only seen the positives.
A couple of months ago I followed a VW Golf through Hondon de las Nieves. Strapped to its roof was a 5 foot pole with a multi faceted "golf ball" perched above housing what looked like half a dozen cameras or so. In which case it looks like google are even covering the back waters.
Does anyone know how long ittakes from the pictures being taken to them being uploaded to street view?
