My friend has accessed his yahoo e-mails from my computer,
after he signed in the padlock goes off and he gets into his e-mails.
both my o.h. and I have tried to access our e-mails, once we have
signed in the padlock comes back on and stays on also the green bar at the bottom
of the computer goes up to 5 bars then it sticks, neither of us can
access our e-mails ( also yahoo).
Is there any computer buffs out there who can help me urgently please.
what is wrong with this bloody thing. all other sites I can access including
yahoo for news, music ect ect. ONLY NO E-MAIL ACCESS

Gypsy Hi;
Are you trying to do this from England or Spain?
Is your email account with yahoo.co.uk or yahoo.com?
Make sure that the url in the address bar is correct for your email account; if it is with the .co.uk version and you have the .com address selected maybe it wont let you in. and vice versa.
Also it may be necessary to logout copletely before you can log back in again...
Just suggestions/wild guesses really but it might help...
Nothing else comes to mind I'm afraid...

I have logged into my e-mail account the same way for years

Gypsy;
Forget about the address/url bit...
In order for your friend to access his email account he must have had to log in using his account name and password. I just wonder if as a result of this your computer has 'forgotten' your log in details...
I have a yahoo email account which I use only occasionally; mine is working OK so I don't think it's yahoo that's having a problem.
As i said these were only suggestions/wildguesses but it would appear that something has happened and you are effectively locked out.
Are you using IE or firefox?

Gypsy Hi;
Yes this is normal; page opens as http://uk.yahoo.com/
At this point as you know you should get the options page inviting you to open mail, messenger, weather, music etc and to sign in...and this I guess is where your problems begin...
From what you have said it would appear that the file starts to load but then freezes...
Ive spent a while dragging through the help files...The yahoo help files arent a hell of a lot of good but you might try this...I know it says IE6 but it applies to IE7 as well...
Internet Explorer 6.x for Windows
- In the "Tools" menu, choose "Internet Options." This opens the "Internet Options" window.
- You want to be in the "General" tab, the first tab to the left along the top of this window. If you're not in this tab, select it.
- Locate the "Temporary Internet Files" heading and click the "Delete Files" button within that section. This opens the "Delete Files" window.
- In this window, either click "OK" directly, or, first check the box marked "Delete all offline content" if you'd like to do this as well…and then click "OK." You might have a brief wait while this operation is performed. The "Delete Files" window closes and returns you to the "Internet Options" window.
- Locate the "History" heading and click the "Clear History" button within that section. This opens an "Are you sure…" box. Click "Yes." The box closes, returning you to the "Internet Options" window.
- Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the "Internet Options" window.
- Close and re-start Internet Explorer
Try this and then try again to access your mail...

Hi Gypsy;
That was a complete stab in the dark...
I know from experience that when we set up a new website or blog, sometimes it will run OK in Firefox but fail miserably with IE.
Clearing out all the old dross and temp files normally clears the problem...
Truth be told we use IE only as a last resort as a web browser and for checking the validity of our blogs. IE has far too many hangups and is too wide open to interference from outside sources.
I'm not saying Firefox is the bees- knees but it's infinitely quicker and far more reliable than IE.
M/Soft are currently plugging IE8 as the answer to a maidens prayer; but at the end of the day its only a souped version of IE7 with a few more bells and whistles...and like most M/Soft stuff the base program is already full of security patches.
Anyway pleased you are back on top and glad it worked for you.
