Do NOT miss Almoradi's Saturday market, it's one of the best. It's all around church square radiating out down the roads & it's big ! Cafes are situated around the church square & down the roads from it. Often things are going on within the square on market day.
Try Cafe Vienna for friendly service, fantastic wcs & good meals & snacks. Standing with your back to the church door look across the square & slightly to the left there's a road with cafes down one side & market stalls down the other. Cafe Vienna is owned by two Scottish couples.
We go most Saturdays when in Spain.
If you love markets don't miss the one called Campo de Guardamar on a Sunday. It is massive. We walk to it, aren't WE the lucky ones ? Not only does 'our' market have so many stalls with cafes amongst them, it also has two lanes designated JUST for cafes down either side of it & run by many nationalities. So there's so much to see & do at 'ours'.
People have their hair cut there, you can book the free blanket trips, an ice cream van is there, places cooking chickens on spits, massive ovens cooking all meats & ribs & potatoes so you just need salad at home & you've a meal. One place sells a fresh chicken directly from the spit with a bottle of red wine (called Conde Noble which we buy at Lidl's for around 65c now) for 6€ ! It also stays open till well after 2pm. We love it !
Wednesday is Guardamar's town market just off the main street, by the Town Hall. That's a good one & combine it with going to have a drink/meal at a promenade restaurant.
Guardamar has a evening market which is lovely to stroll around & there are endless cafes & the like by it.
When are you over Sue ? We're over May 6th till June 12th.
