scanning and translating a letter

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to scan a letter that

is in spanish onto the computer then translating it into

 english on the computer without having to

type the whole letter out in spanish on a translation site.

I hope this makes sense!!!

AS I AM STILL A NOVICE ON THE COMPUTER.

You would need OCR software on your scanner. I have never found the software to be particulalrly good though. When using your scanner, you should have the option to scan a picture or text, choose the text option and see what happens. Whether it will recognise all the extra symbols in the Spanish language or not, I don't know. It then transfers the scan to a word processor document which you can check against the original and correct. Then cut & paste into a translator.
