What is the tax year in Spain - is it January to December? If we become resident in, say, October 2009 would we have to declare all our earnings from January 2009? Please excuse my ignorance! I just recall people used to always leave it until after April to return to the UK from here (due to the tax year there).
We will be seeking tax advice when we are there, but I just wondered what the tax year was in Spain.

TAx year in Spain is January to December.
Of course your liabilities for every tax will start once you are into the syatem.
For instance for the IRPF ( personal incomes), in June 2010 you will be declaring your incomes from October 2009 to end of december 2009.
Hope this helps!
