Collect NIE within how many months/years?

We have not been to spain to collect our NIE numbers  that were approved on 11th November 2007 as our property has been  delayed.

Does anyone know how long they are kept for collection, have we already passed that deadline if there is one? They have been approved at the Murcia 'Extranjeros' offices.

I need to ensure that either they are definitely still there (so as to not have wasted trip from uk) or they are now no longer valid and destroyed so we have to apply again.

It is normally 6 months, therefore you will not be able to get those ones any more, you will need to re apply, you can do this at the Spanish embassy in the UK and they will post them to you.  It is simple and you will not have to pay for someone to do it for you.  You can get the application form on http://www.mir.es/SGACAVT/modelos/extranjeria/modelos_extranje/ex_14.pdf

Ithas been so frustrating trying to find out and all I get is the very relaxed attitude of 'go see if they are still there' .
