Hello everyone,

I have just joined the forum and want to say Hola !

Well I suppose I am joining the back of a long queue of people all looking for something else, something better.

Currently I own and operate a mobile tyre fitting business in the UK. I supply, fit and balance tyres to cars, vans, motorcycles, golf buggies, go karts you name it. Anything up to a 20 inch diameter. Mobile tyre fitting does not seem to be catered for in the south of Spain, but I know there are 2 in the North.Can this really be an untapped market?? 

My wife (Ruth) is a solicitor, specialising in Probate Law, and like me she shares the dream, and is as determined to succeed in Spain as me. Thats got to be half the battle won. We have 2 daughters aged 18 and 11.

My family want to relocate to the South of Spain, and I believe the mobile business would work very well with all the vehicles in Spain, particularly the bikes, scooters and mopeds. We have just returned to the UK from a week in Andalusia, and are planning on going back to Spain on the 6th February. I would like to hear from anyone who has been down the same road, of looking at schools for my girls, areas to live, work etc.

We enjoy using this site, and are planning for February 6th 2010 for our next visit. Realistically, it will be approximately 2-3 years before it will be possible for us to make the move. We will make several trips each year until then, and possibly I will eventually make the trip on my own to see if my business idea works.

We intend looking at the Alicante area in February, and are trying to get as much information as possible about each area, before we make any decisions about where to settle. I very much like the Granada area, but need to explore further.

The girls want to live by the sea, (naturally) I just want to live where I can work and make lots of money.

Ruth and I are food mad, we love the mediterranean diet, and the life style is very appealing.

We are also very pleased that such an organisation as your exists.

Hi Ioan / Ruth,

If you like it around Granada, have you thought about the Alpujarras region just south of the Sierra Nevadas. We've been to lots of areas around Spain, many of them wonderful, but we've never been anywhere as beautiful and magical as this place.

Just come back from our 6th visit there. It's about 40 minitues from Granada and 30 minutes in the other direction from the Costa Tropical.

For many people it would be too remote and lacking the facilities that the costas appear to offer, but for us it's perfect.

It's where we intend to relocate to when we finally quit the UK rat race.

Thanks for that, we will have a look in February. The scenery is pretty impressive from what I have seen of it.

The more rustic / remote does appeal to me, but there again if it was just me, i'd be out there now trying to make it work.
