Protecting intellectual copyright in Spain? As a lyricist (songwriter) I know that in the UK one isn’t obliged to register everything one writes. If something is written and no one can prove to have written it beforehand it theirs plain and simple. It is copyright. ©
By this I mean protected by law. This applies to plagiarism too. A common procedure is to post it to oneself by registered post but on receipt leave it sealed and in a drawer.
If a songwriter and a musical composer put their heads together and create between them music, which may at some stage produce royalties, is there in Spain a need for the formality (and expense) of legal protection?
