Hello David ,
We'd like to start by thanking you all for your support in the last 12 months.
This week we are 1 year old, a year having passed from the first testing of the programming, followed by 3 months of data entry before we went live. It's been a year of hard work, but with your support we're now reaching 1.3 million hits a month, so thank you for all your emails, questions and information.
Please keep sending your events and if we've missed out your club or business please let us know and we'll update accordingly.Thank you for helping us to make the most of life in Spain and please keep sending this onto anyone who may like to know about the great things happening around the region.

This week we have the Encuentro de Cuadrillas in Barranda, an important folk music gathering, the Romeria de la Candelaria in Alhama, Carmen By Bizet in Murcia, several charity events in aid of the Haiti disaster, Rhapsody in blue by Gershwin and lots of new exhibitions. Don't forget this is the last chance to see Alfonso X El Sabio as it closes on Sunday.

Walking is such an enjoyable activity in the region, attracting vast numbers of people to enjoy the climate and stunning scenery. This week we have some suggestions about ways to get out there and explore the region on foot.

This week the big news is about Corvera airport. Although the opening date is now set for Autumn next year the first stone was laid this week for the roads to link it into the region.
Cartagena built a pink bridge, Lorca council had their electricity disconnected for not paying their bills and Moratalla nearly got into the Guinness book of records with a 600 kilo marzipan creation....

Finally, to remind you all that the Gardening Club meets on Saturday at Canadas del Romero, Old School Hall. The talk is about spraying, helping you to identify the correct chemicals for the appropriate pest, particularly relating to Picudo Rojo, and we also have a presentation for you about how to control the Cochinilla del Carmin which is devastating the Prickly Pears.
We'll also be propagating grapevines and eating cake..
