Understanding spanish bank statement

Hi,

We have a Cajasur bank account but are not sure which value is our current balance.

We have two boxes, one is called "IMPORTE A ANOTAR EN LIBRETA" which is the balance from subtracting the debit column from the credit column. But I have another box labeled "S/. POSTERIOR A LA ANOTACION" which has a higher value than the other. I would like someone to comfirm whether this is my current balance or something else.

Not really sure without seeing it, but just a suggestion: why not register to use their on-line service; I just checked, and it would appear that it's available in English, which would make life easier. Also, it may be worth enquiring if you can receive statements in English.

I'm guessing here that you have an account with a "libreta" which is a little book that you feed into the ATM and it prints your transactions and balances.

Are you perhaps being charged for this?
