Hudsey, you don't "need" to do anything. As Janice says, it is simply your invite to the AGM. If you wish to appoint someone to attend (& vote) on your behalf, you can do so using the form at the bottom of the letter, but you don't have to.

When you come over, if you haven't already received them, try to obtain a copy of the minutes so you know all that went on in the meeting, who your new president is, how much community charge you'll have to pay etc. Apart from item 2 on the agenda, which I presume you would know if it affects you or not, there shouldn't be any problems to concern yourself with.

Hi Hudsey,

I received an invitation to an AGM in March for Dream Hills 2 (409-551) I wrote to Servigest and told them I was unable to attend and and pointed out that as I had not completed, I would not be able to vote anyway. I asked them to send me a copy of the minutes which actually just arrived at the end of this week along with a direct debit mandate for community charges. I am not very happy with this mandate as it does not state the frequency that the amount is to be debited from my account. I will have to try and sort this out when I eventually complete which I will be doing as soon as the habitation license is issued!

Hope this helps.

Julia

Thanks Conrad for clarifying this. Glad it is yearly and not monthly or I would have been up the proverbial creek without a paddle!!

Can nobody recommend a good bilingual administrator in the area? Apart from speaking the 2 languages Spanish and English, it is also important for this person to understand and handle also the 2 different mentalities. Any suggestions?

The area is Estepona, but should the Administrator be based in the Manilva area, it would also be fine, its close enough.

Thanks

In this forum in November somebody refers to Justin´s article about his 3 months as President and the Administration company GAEMU. Where can I see this article?

Hi all

We have a few owners who think we should be changing our administrators but the problem is we have a legal battle going on with the developers and we are concerned that if we change the administrators at our next AGM then we will loose everything that has been battled for over the last few years with the appointed solicitor.  What does anybody else think?

Hi  jojan,

We are currently living in a property owned by family which has a community of owners, administrator etc etc etc. Over the past eleven years they have had to change administrators on at least four occasions mainly due to them failing to do what they were being paid to do, or putting it bluntly ripping off the community !!  The current adminstrator is not a lot better, they all seem to be of the same breed, a far too laid back  attitude in many instances with their main phrase being, "it's not a problem, it will get sorted eventually"  Recently they had warn the latest administrator to get his finger out of his backside and get some very urgent issues sorted urgently, if not he would suffer the consequences. This seems to have worked albeit in slow motion as normal !

So unless your administrator is absolute rubbish at getting anything sorted, hang on to him/her, you could end up with worse,  as they say better the devil you know !

Mmm yes you may be right I think we should think long and hard about all of this because I have read that so many people are having problems with their adminstrators it does make you worry.  Actually I wonder when we will hear somebody blowing the trumpet of their own, perhaps they would be a little frightened of losing them and their good work spreading too thinly.  Ah well good luck with your community problems and thank you for responding.

Jojan
