HI Annie by default your Halifax ES account is a non resident account and thus it should be pre programmed to come up in English as that is how they are SUPPOSED to be issued - sometimes they slip through the net. If for any reason it doesnt there will be an option to cahnge language (think its cambio idioma - certainly idioma but not sure on the verb tense). Presence of Halifax ATM's in Spain currently poor but you can do it at any ATM displaying a SERVIRED sign - they are also the ones where you can withdraw cash without incurring a charge - any of the others there will a transaction charge.

Thanks Smiley & Jeans Sis - have written those instructions down Smiley! One of the reasons I opened a Halifax account is that there is actually a branch in Los Alcazares in Murcia near to us, so will have a go there next time I'm over.
Good info re the servired signs - will have a look for them in future. Thank you!

Lyndy, Last week Moneycorp quoted me 1.45 fixed for up to 12 monthlty payments, when the rate was around 1.51, for 550e. Even with their £4 per transaction charge it still makes them cheaper than Hifx who always seem very low on regular payments but the amongst the best value on one-off transactions.
