The trouble is that sometimes it is difficult to know when you have received the correct information. We read in the newspapers a good while back that  the taxman could not come after anyone for this tax after 5 years. can anybody confirm that????

Sorry to disagree with item 1.  The u.k has little manufacturing for export. It is primarily an economy based on sevices and sevice jobs.

Google: United kingdom exports and you will see that in March 2013 the u.k exported 41,316 million pounds worth of goods. Well i would not call that, THE U.K HAS LITTLE MANUFACTURING FOR EXPORT, would you? 

Item 2. I cannot for the life of me seeing London's economic and financial centre, one of the largest in the world being transferred from the 1 square mile in the city of London to anywhere let alone Frankfurt.

If the u.k left the E.U why would Europe boycott them? If their prices were competative, delivery dates on time and product quality good, Europe would buy. They would not boycott them just because they were not one of them. Europe buys from the states, China etc., and they are not in Europe. Business is business.

Please dont keep bringing OIL into the equation. Oil has rarely been in short supply except for as far as i can remember only on one occassion and that was when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait and blew up most of the oil wells there. There was a short supply for a while which is why the then prime minister Sir Edward Heath reduced the speed limit on all UK motorways to 50 miles per hour to save fuel, and that lasted for a few months.

Syria.  Yes perhaps it would not be a bad thing to help the Syrian people and who knows maybe in the end we will but unfortunately one cant put all the worlds problems to rights which is a pity.

JOHNZX.   I think you will find that president Galtieri was warned that there would be repercussions if he did not imediately pull out. He did not, and there were.
