I am asking a question that my not have diect an answer, but I will ask it anyway becasue I am a bit of a panick. We have found a buyer for our property and when we spoke to our solicitor it became evident that there was an error on the nota simple which could prevent us from going ahead with the sale. Our solititors have done what is necessary to rectify the change and sent the paperwork to the Land Rergistry. My question is - are there timescale that Land Registry have to work too, in order to make changes to the nota simple and to respond accoringly? Or is it simply a case of manana!!

I am interested in Don's statement relating to enjoying the benefits of Spain and paying taxes here. Oh and by the way I also have my car on Spanish plates etc. Therefore, please tell me if you pay all your taxes in Spain and are under the age of 65 what benefits do you get from the Spanish system other than good weather? You are not entitled to healthcare, nor social security, nada. So why would any body want to pay more taxes to a very corrupt state than one has to. I spend half the year here and half in the UK. This way I keep my money safe and retain my guiriship.

I have to agree with Roberto. We have been chasing bad debtors for years now, even using the courts and embargoes, but this has had no effect. One of the problems we have had is identifying who the correct owner is and where they live to send buro faxes. The bottem line is that the courts in Spain are too slow, with the honest owners being the lonly ooser.

Having followed this thread for a long time, isn't this an issue that could/should be taken to the Eurpoean Court of Justice? Surley the ECJ would give a definitive answer to this very important problem.
