Anyone with a slight interest in off plan will be familiar with the name Polaris World. The publicity is unavoidable and it is being pushed everywhere. Up until now, I’ve let it go over my head because it just all seems so overwhelming. I mean this project is huge and involves creating a dream lifestyle concept. So, a few days ago I decided to do a bit of research just to see what the hype was about and to find out just what is Polaris World. Having read through the entire blurb, I am desperate to see it in the flesh and I am currently planning a trip.
How did it all begin?
Polaris was set up in 2001 by Pedro Garcia, with the backing of various other investors.
Where is Polaris World?
It is located on the Costa Calida near the beaches of Mar Menor and the city of Murcia.
What is the concept?
My own interpretation of the concept is that Polaris World is pioneering a lifestyle which will become the norm for our children. It is about 21st century living and will no doubt serve as a model for future projects. It seems that the emphasis is placed on creating an ideal lifestyle where the priorities are balanced. This lifestyle focuses on facilitating your life whilst you can enjoy your leisure time by providing services such as cleaning, gardening, grocery delivery and pretty much all the mundane tasks which we begrudge doing. Some might call it a millionaire’s lifestyle but without a millionaire’s price tag. Polaris World allows ordinary people to enjoy the pleasures in life that they have worked hard for and deserve. I can see it as becoming a safe place where residents enjoy a high standard of living.
Who is going to live there?
They have offices promoting all over the world so Polaris World resorts will become a truly international places to live.
How is it organised?
Polaris World is made up of seven resorts:
- Mar Menor Golf Resort
- El Valle Golf Resort
- La Loma Resort
- Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort
- La Torre Golf Resort
- Terrazas de La Torre Golf Resort
- Mar Menor II Golf Resort
With so many resorts, where do I start?

They will also enjoy an 18 hole Nicklaus Design golf course. Residents will enjoy all the facilities of La Torre Golf Resort.
Can I use the facilities on all resorts?
I did wonder about this one but apparently there will be a shuttle bus service to transport you from one resort to the next so that you can benefit from each resort’s facilities.
The creator obviously had a dream when creating Polaris World and if this dream goes according to plan, it could prove to be the ultimate in modern day living. Admittedly, I was a bit sceptical about the whole concept and it just seemed too idealistic. However, having trawled the internet for information, I am captivated by what is on offer for very affordable prices.
Many of the sites that I looked at trying to promote Polaris World were playing on the old sun and sand clichés that you can get anywhere in Spain. I believe that even by taking the magic sun element out of the equation you are still left with a fantastic self contained place to live or holiday. I even thought that it might be quite isolated but it is actually near the region’s major city of Murcia.
Initially, as a non-golf player the golfing element did put me off. However, I think that you can enjoy a wonderful leisure filled lifestyle without ever having to step foot on a golf course in Polaris World. I cannot find any more excuses not to like it and I find it impossible to be negative about it. I personally am sold on the following factors:
- All properties have central heating!! Having spent two winters on the Costa del Sol, this is a must have which is rarely catered for at this price level.
- The space around properties. Another luxury which you are hard pushed to find along the concrete Costas.
- The attention to detail which unfortunately is often overlooked when buying off plan at affordable prices.
- The leisure filled lifestyle accessible to ordinary people not just millionaires.
- The services on hand which free up your time to do the things that you really want to do.
- The planning, pride and priorities of Polaris World.
I really like this futuristic concept and I could see myself living somewhere like this. I imagine it will be safe, healthy and clean. Polaris World’s concept is likely to become a model used in other European countries. From what I have read so far, I am inspired and keen to check it out and I hope to do so in the near future.
