The Travels & Adventures of Flog-It Removals.

Welcome to the Flog-It blog. Here we will post comments and details of our travels hopefully before, during and after we are on the road as well as general observations from while we are just out and about locally.

Still catching up.

After another uneventful week of computer work for the dot-com, pool cleaning and gardening, the following Saturday was spent oiling decking around a pool in a massive garden in lovely sunshine and then Sunday the ice cream van got another run out to Lloret de Mar. We had gardening to finish up in Roca Grossa followed by a visit to our wood store with a chainsaw as now we can just fill the back of the van without worrying and reverse it all the way down to the store without us having to carry the wood all the way up to the road like we do with the big truck. It was on the way to Lloret that I first discovered the loud screaming noise coming from (I hope) the front wheel bearing or brake and hopefully I will get the time to look into that before too long, just need to find my axle stands and ramps again in the lock-up. It’s a varied life don’t you think? Never really a dull moment!!

Why did Ruth get knocked out of X-Factor?  Why did Nicky get chased around Aigua Xelida by a gun-toting vigilante?  Why have I got to go up on the roof again?

Oh well, soon be off to Andalucía for Xmas and then back to England on a delivery run before the middle of January. Did I say never a dull moment?

Time to catch up.
Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Well it's been a while since my last ramble and a lot has happened. The trouble is we have all been knocked out by a dose of flu and whilst still having to do work through it, sitting here writing about it has just not been top of my list of things to do. So I will probably do a few short posts to catch up starting with this one, and on the weekend of 29th & 30th November we drove down to Ondara to buy a little Renault Express which will be perfect for the gardening work round here. We had an overnight stay in the Hotel Port Denia which was brilliant, great value and fantastic food and entertainment. In fact I am trying to create an excuse to go back again. The following morning we collected the car and drove it the 600km home without too much in the way of trouble, plenty of room in the back to throw the wet snot-rags. To be honest it's a bag of nails, but it'll do perfectly for what I need here and for some reason it has already become known as the "ice cream van" but I have no idea why. It was a real pain to start in the mornings so out came the old torch battery that was powering it and in went a much better spare I had here and now it starts on the button every time. It goes like stink up the hills here and down the dirt tracks through the forest with no problem at all and it even has a "Knight Rider" style Turbo Boost - More commonly known as a manual choke!! I can't remember the last time I used one of those. It needs more work though, yes it goes - but it doesn't stop, and I am pretty sure a wheel bearing is about to explode, but what the hell. It's FUN!!
