Fueding Torrevieja forums, I love this video.
Friday, December 10, 2010 @ 1:26 PM

Video here

You must understand about the two Torrevieja forums. One is run by Gary & has been around for ages (& has some wierd characters posting in it) & then Jeff started a rival forum.

Jeff recruited people he knew who were members of Gary's forum to use Gary's personal message system to contact Gary's members (but only ones who didn't make waves) to join Jeff's forum. Gary got to hear about it & banned those involved.
.
Quite a number of Gary's members joined Jeff's forum (& stayed as members in Gary's too) but were banned in Jeff's for being rude or posting against the rules or they were banned because they were seen in Gary's forum saying Jeff's forum is cr*p. That's the trouble with using the same site name.
.
Jeff won't let his members scratch their bums or sneeze without his permission yet he has his favourites who scratch his back so they get let off & can pretty much post what they like.
.
Anyway, a member of Gary's forum made this video which says it all, it is SUPERB! It incorporates various members of Gary's forum &, if you knew these characters, you'd find the video even more hilarious.

The truth always hurts, or in this case, is good for a laugh.

The best giggle I have had with my cup of tea this morning!

I suppose I'll get banned from one or the other now!

Let's just say it's a 'forum' in the 'Torrevieja' area, I'll leave the rest to you, Chris. ;-)
Heard of GOOGLE?? ;-)

Always heard of Google, but didn't do mind-reading at school ;-) I assume it's www.TorreviejaForums.com

I had a feeling it might have been www.TorreviejaForums.com but wasn't sure. It's funny, I've been a member there since about May and have nothing but praise for it. The forums are friendly and helpful, with currently about 2,000 members.

Maybe around 2000 members (2126 actually ;-))Chris but only a handful posting & many do so very cagily I feel as the rules are silly. (Others seem to get away with alot, unsure why THEY are allowed but I'm not going to go there). Not being able to post a link should there be a link on it to Facebook or Twitter for instance. It's totally understandable to have a rule that forbids links to other forums or members talking about other forums, I can understand THAT! But I know many members who joined, posted one or twice, got chastised for using their blog or website that had a link to Facebook (& most do these days) & Jeff publically snapped with other regulars joining in & THAT is no way to encourage new members to post.

Chris said:

It's the same on most forums of this type, only a small percentage actually post. But anyway, it ticks all the box's for me, plus people can and do post without any fears of getting 'bashed'.

Certainly less member bashing than on HERE this past few days!! However, I do feel the mods there are very heavy handed with some but not with others & no one dare disagree with Phil & Kate & Jeff, it's easier for them to ban members. Maybe Jeff could hire them out an hour daily ... yes??????

Chris, ONE click posts your post, BTW. I've twice had to delete spare ones, lol!

Chris said:
Wednesday, December 15, 2010 @ 8:56 PM

Sorry about the duplicate posts, not sure how or why that's happpening ;-( Maybe those mods could hire themselves out - you'll have to ask jeff about that! Also, another problem on other forums is the incessant, boring chat about politics, which a lot of people don't really want, but on http://www.TorreviejaForums.com it thankfully doesn't happen so much ;-)

Jeff's rules are below! Point 6 says nothing of a sexually orientated nature must be posted, well, that's a laugh, the jokes section is full of very explicit stuff from The Sheriff & Warrior & others. Distasteful. Hope YOU aren't posting such muck, Chris!
.....................

By posting anywhere on these forums, you agree to all of the very simple guidelines
below :
1. Always be polite, friendly and as helpful as possible where needed. (If you ever feel
that there could be a slight chance that your post might be viewed as rude,
condescending, sarcastic, patronising, grumpy, unfriendly etc, then please, DON'T do
the post).
2. Within your posts, signature and profile, please don't mention website addresses,
email addresses or any other details, in any way, shape or form, regarding any websites
that contains any of the following :
* Other forums or message boards, or links to other forums or message boards. (If you
ever see Sainsburys being advertised in Tescos, please let us know and we'll be pleased
to review this part of the agreement!!)
* Other websites that contain weather forecasts
* Website designers, website developers, website hosting companies or search engine
optimisation companies
* Blogs or social networks, INCLUDING Facebook, Twitter, etc, etc.
3. Also, please remember that posts by bars, restaurants and other entertainment venue
owners/organisers to publicise their business and/or events are allowed, and should be
placed in the 'Torrevieja - What's on' forum. Posts by service providers to publicise
their businesses are also permitted, and should be placed in the 'Torrevieja - Services
Offered And Wanted' forum. It's important to bear in mind that the content of paragraph
2 above, about mentioning other websites, always applies, in any circumstance.
4. We have a friendly, helpful, welcoming community here and it will always stay that
way. Each member here is accountable for their own posts, so please take care in how
you express your comments, remember that your intended tone of voice can sometimes
be lost in written communication, so if you want something to be understood in a
certain way, it may help to provide an obvious indicator, like a smilie, to avoid any
possible misinterpretation.
5. Signatures - please only have a maximum of TWO lines in your signature, this
includes links to websites, email address's, telephone numbers or any other text. All
other types of lines are never allowed, this includes blank lines, dotted lines, dashed
lines, underscored lines etc, etc and please don't do all of your signature in bold. It's
great that members benefit from the free advertising that can be achieved from the
signatures, but signatures are meant to be just that, a signature, and not a distraction
from the post. You can include a link to your website in your signature if you wish, but,
ONLY if it doesn't contravene ANY part of point two above.
6. You agree not to post anything abusive, obscene, racist, libellous, slanderous,
threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws. Doing
so, may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, with possible
notification to your internet service provider. The IP address of all posts is recorded to
aid in enforcing these guidelines. You agree that the administration team of these
forums have the right to delete, edit, move or close any post or topic at any time as they
see fit.
7. When making a post, please ensure that you have no doubt on how to treat your
fellow members, ask yourself:
* Am I being helpful, or detracting from the productivity of the conversation?
* Would I behave this way offline? What if I saw one of the members from here at a
local shop, a neighbourhood party, or the local cafe? Would I still act in the same way?
www.TorreviejaForums.com
* If someone new to the forums saw my post, would it make them feel welcome?
* Could this hurt someone's feelings?
* Would I say exactly the same thing to my mother and my children?
If the answer is no to any of the above, then please, don't make that post!!
8. Posts that are negatively discussing how these forums are conducted and/or
organised, are always deleted. Any problems with any part of the forums, just email to
Jeff@TorreviejaForums.com Please remember, your emails are always welcome, BUT,
the exception to this, is if your email is in connection with you ignoring any of the very
simple guidelines on this page - any emails on that subject are always put at the bottom
of the priority list!
9. As there's never any time to go into personal dialogue, either on the forums or by
emails, with members who contravene the very simple guidelines on this page, posts
might be edited, moved or deleted, without notice.
10. If a member asks a question and you've managed to find the answer on Google,
Yahoo or other search engine, just post the answer, mentioning how you found the
answer isn't important.
11. Asking and answering questions - when asking a question and another member
has answered that question, please take the time to thank them, it's only common
politeness. However, when answering a question, and you've not received a thanks,
please remember that there could be many reasons why the person asking the question
hasn't thanked you, they may have simply forgot, problems with their computer, etc, etc,
so please don't get upset if the person hasn't thanked you for answering their question.
Just answer the questions, because it always feels good to help others!
12. Above all, always be polite, friendly and as helpful as possible.
Your understanding and co-operation with all of the above is very much appreciated.

No, I haven't posted that stuff, but there again, I didn't say the forums were perfect, just that they're a friendly, helpful forum, that's all. ;-)

This was too funny, I thought it was my imagination that there was a dictatorship going on. Ah will, live and learn, I am the latest example of how to get your membership deleted in that forum. I suggest it becomes Torrevieja phone club since no emails etc. I try understand the accents when calling but dont even make it to blonde grade!

'The Sheriff' of Real Radio http://realradio.es/ used to advertise 'Uncle Jeff's' forum but as they didn't advertise it at LEAST once an hour Uncle Jeff got minty cos he is 'he who must be obeyed'!! He posted this then locked the thread as, God forbid, no one must question HIM!!

"We've previously worked with a radio station on the Costa Blanca, which ended recently. The deal was, was that we would provide a free ad on the right hand side of these forums, in return for them mentioning the forums at least once every hour during any show, in conjunction with the weather report, which was agreed in writing by email. This was successful for about 4 months, and as a gesture of goodwill, we even allowed ample free advertising via posts in the forums, plus, we even set up dedicated threads just for that radio station. We were very useful to them, they even got two of their current five presenters just because of these forums. Then, they stopped mentioning the forums once an hour as was agreed by the boss of the radio station, we then emailed them twice and got no response. In all my years of business, I've never come across anyone who would renege on what they've personally agreed on, to most people, it doesn't only mean poor business sense, but unethical as well.

As those of you that know me will know, I always try to give as much of my time as possible, to positive thoughts, so any negative stuff about this particular subject here on these forums, will only be in this post. No need to dwell on it.

So, if anyone knows of a good radio station on the Costa Blanca, that would like to work successfully with the forums, and to keep their word on anything agreed, just let us know on the usual email address on the contact page here:
www.********/contact

Thanks to all for the great feedback we've received by email on this.

Onwards and upwards".

Many comment Jeff was likely bullied at school & now is turning the tables. Silly little man IMHO.

Very funny, well done clip, we were in stitches! We were one of the friendly helpful lot on the forum, loaning our time and effort and not asking a penny, helped give Jeff's little regime the good name it supposedly has, made the effort to meet a few, but cant stand the nit picking and cowardly way people are deleted AFTER Jeff or whoever has their say, then the string of comments by the rest of how many went down that night... sheriffs and deputies style. Thanks for the laugh, its great to know there are like minded out there, though we will miss a few of the good people we "met" so to speak.

I see Chris is back yet again in defence of the poachers forum.

And I suppose you are still going to profess _Chris_, that you are not part of the poachers team........ You're not even bright enough to think up a different name for your posts on here...

Yeah, pull the other one.

First time I have came across this, unethical me never I have not attempted in any way to gain any members from any sites (forums) that is users choice. There is always two sides to a story, although I am known locally as The Sheriff I do not hide behind the name you all know who I am, but would you like to know who Jeff is ? Would You Like to know who Phil is ?
Or do you think they should be allowed to continue dictating while never revealing their true identity perhaps now is the time
I also note on his forum (he thinks he has banned me from) that he has a new section for radio stations...... Real Radio not included, petty or childish springs to mind, I deal with these other stations on a daily basis (with exceptions) and you don not need to be very intelligent to work out which one. Perhaps some of the comments on here are 100% correct. All to be revealed soon The Sheriff a.k.a Cliff

If it's any consolation, Cliff, I agree with you. Jeff is a wierd s*d, he has banned his one other time favourite too, Jualsy because she started promoting the newish forum I see you & she are in that has all of 46 members currently but no doubt she will drag em in there given the chance.

Would YOU let us know WHO Jeff & Phil are? ;-)
THAT would blow his tiny world out of the water now. Go on, double dare ya!!

I was with Torrieveja.co.uk for years. I was banned by Gary because I was invited on to Jeffs Forum and I did all I could to help promote it. Jeff thought Gary was wrong, but then he did exactly the same thing when I recommended Cliff's Forum when it started up.............unbelievable! I am a member of several Forums and I would do what I could to help in any situation to build up members, so I have to say that I don't understand why double standards exist.
There is a whole world out there to investigate and get involved with, and why does anyone have reason to think they can prevent people from doing that? Strange, but as I say all the time......."Onwards and Upwards"!!

Jualsy, Gary banned you for spamming his members by PMs to join Jeff's forum! You sent PMs to me & many I know. You USED Gary's forum. End of!!! Don't winge because it backfired.

Holy cow.
I think my wife and I have been a member of jeffs forum for less than a year.
Today we were amazed at the great work our estate agent did for us in getting our SIP cards amongst other things. It was genuinely kind and a great experience worthy of note, so I posted as it happened, no more, no less. Tonight without warning both my wifes account and mine were deleted. We have only been in spain for 2 months have found the advice of some members absolutely invaluable and hence tried to reciprocate, there was no warning to the ban or deletion no email advising of MY wrong doing just banned. I came here because of PC gone wrong in the UK but have come up against a far greater PC.
I was a moderator on an Australian police forum for 5 years before leaving for the UK and only once did I ever have recourse to delete anyones account and that was after many warnings, so I know what is and isn't correct. Goodness knows what this chap believes he is but he took money for our account and has failed to fulfil his side of things. Having looked at his rules very closely I see he is coveting his advertising but that means good service here which should be available for all cannot. The only loss as \I see it is for those newly arrived or thinking of coming vbecause the info I put on the forum which I presume has also been beleted for breaching rules was absolutely invaluable and could have saved many a lot of money time and effort, Bang out of order to be honest.

Darn, I joined Jeffs forum about 2weeks ago and payed through paypal. Next thing I got was a refund of my money and banned from the forum before ever posting anything! I can't contact or email Jeff or anyone else asking why I was banned. Maybe it's because I am Australian and only like British people on his site. Who knows... I am only interested in information about buying a property in Spain and spending approx 6 months a year living there with my wife. I guess he has his reasons for banning me, just wish he tell me why?
