Corvera International Airport developments are currently "on hold".
Thursday, May 31, 2012 @ 1:33 PM

An anonymous source at the Ministry of Public works has confirmed that developments at Corvera International Airport are currently "on hold".

The opening of the airport, privately owned by Aeromur and to be managed and operated by state-owned AENA, is believed to have been blocked for "military reasons".

The unnamed source went on to say how, aside from economic reasons, the operation of the airport has been suspended at the eleventh hour due to the importance that the Murcia area, has in offering security for Spain, Western Europe and NATO in the event of a nuclear threat.

Although this has still to be officially confirmed by government sources, if done so it will bring questions as to why this issue has only been addressed at this late stage in the proceedings and after millions of euros in private and public investment.

It is perhaps inevitable that parallels are going to be drawn with Castellon airport.

Hey ho, what a surprise! in case anyone in government doesn't think it's tough enough already. If this rumour is true, it's just another kick in the goolies for the property market, particularly in the Murcia region . Have the lunatics finally taken over the asylum? Jesus Christo (Spanish pronunciation) gimme another beer. God save the Queen.

Couldn't understand why so much money appeared to be spent on San Javier when it was planned to close once Corvera opened, I suppose this was inevitable. John Scott, I think you are right about the asylum, the lunatics have definitely taken over on this one.

With regard to San Javier airport, it has always been my understanding, that it is, and always was a military airfield, I was also led to believe, after Corvera opened, it would revert back to it;s military role. If this infomation is correct, I cannot understand how any percieved nuclear threat, or indeed any NATO role cannot be dealt with, as per the Status Quo. Hey, but I'm only a simple man, trying to get a living. Happy Days.

this is something to do with the globalist agenda. There is going to be a major event very soon. Hold tight humanity.

I very much doubt that San Javier ever realised that if Corvera opened, they would close. They're not so stupid to lash out 30 Million on a second runway and (rather belatedly) a second control tower. And the two additions were built ONLY to permit commercial flights to operate alongside the military.
The census of opinion is that it was Murcia Ayuntamiento who were instrumental in trying to close San Javier so that commercial flights would have no alternative but to use new Corvera.
Coervera was someone's dream many years ago - when the EU were begging countries to accept multi-million handouts at zero rates of interest. "Let's take the dinero, and THEN think about what we can spend it on".
Once embarked on that line of (illogical) thinking, it becomes quite difficult to perform a U Turn, or in this case, even a U Bend

Well if San Javier is to remain our main airport in the region, at least the millions we thought was being wasted on an airport due to close will now be money well spent. Perhaps Corvera can now be the new theme park and the proposed park site back to agriculture, with of course the option to become a golf course when things get better. I guess the officials will now loose a great deal of face and money, still I don't think the Spanish jails are overcrowded yet, plenty of room for some more mayors
