Woman at Work(Never too Old)

I have a valued interest in the fact, that when we retire here, many think we are put out to graze. Well! as far as I am concerned I do not intend hanging up my boots yet (Figure of speech). I am progressing into so many things but at the top of my list is working for myself once again.I miss this, the challenge and every day is different and at the end of my week, I really feel that I have accomplished some. This is so healthy for us wrinklies LOL,it keeps the grey cells active and your outlook on life is still fresh and exciting, besides it opens up so many doors. It is fun, and what I do is not that hard at all.:-)

Hi! my name is Jenny and I am new to this so please have a little patience with me. I am not sure where to start really, I have so many things that I enjoy chatting about and I have many interests also. At the moment I am working for myself, so this keeps me busy and so many hobbies. I now wonder how I use to run a home, business and have 3 children. There are not enough hours in the day. I have lived in Spain for 6 years now, and I love it. This is my style of living, simplicity, by this I mean no more Dinner and Dances ( long frocks) Ugh! charging around and no time to stop for the small things in life. I wonder if there are more like me here.

I am having a go at writing and I have also started to paint in oils, infact I have sold 3 picture and given 2 away to friends . I am having a rest from this now as my business is taking up more of my time at the moment. I do not mind this as this is really rewarding. It supplements my Pension, so this is great, it keeps the grey cells multiplying also. LOL
This is just a quick starter blog and I hope it will improve with time. Thank you for reading this,  and have a Happy Day. J.

Hi Jenny
We too have given up the rat race and are enjoying living a much simpler life. There is the odd day when I feel a tinge guilty that maybe I should still be working 14 hour days before running into the supermarket for a pre-cooked chicken because we don't have time to cook a proper meal before we are out entertaining clients at some bar we'd rather not be in.

Now we have time to enjoy our golf, enjoy walking our dogs, enjoy cooking real food which we have enjoyed browsing the markets to buy and enjoy proper conversations with each other.

It didn't take us long to realise that the biggest thing we have gained from our new lifestyle is TIME!

Enjoy your writing

Jacqui

Hi Jenny,

My name is Mandy and myself and my husband are thinking of making the move over to Spain in the next two years. Reasons we are working 17 hr days consistently are are NOT getting the quality of life. We will have to work over in Spain but hopefully not 17 hr days, I maybe able to work part time!!!!!!

We are coming over in Feb to look at area's and to meet with some people regarding work,so you would recomend the spanish lifestyle?

Any advice you can give us would be appreciated

Regards
Mandy
