Spanish chickpea stew
Friday, October 2, 2009 @ 11:08 PM

Yesterday afternoon, I cooked this Chickpea stew.It had: chickpeas, carrots, onions, marrows, spinaches, olive oil, water and nutritious colouring.

The way of cooking:  Two days before yesterday in the night, I leaved some chickpeas to soak, in a pressure cooker, with too water --you have to see how the chickpeas are covered--. I put the pressure cooker over a high heat.while, I was cutting the carrots, onions and marrows --everything, so chopped--.

After that, I threw salt, olive oil and colouring in. I stirred everything.I closed the pressure cooker, for one hour. Then I open it and I threw the spinaches out over the food.I finished it with the pressure cooker open, while the spinaches were reduceing themselves.

Hi Luis,
This stew sounds delicious. All the more so because of the flamboyant way you appear to be cooking it.
Just kidding!
You have got the words IN and OUT confused. Well I HOPE you have.
Also, where you use the sentence 'I moved everything', I think you meant that you 'stirred' everything.
Anyway, now that I have all the ingredients we will be having the stew on Tuesday after the peas have soaked for three days.I can't wait. Thankyou Luis.

Hi, Sandra:
Thankyou very much for your comment. You are so pleasant.
I recognize that my English is regular; thanks for your help.
I am proud knowing that you liked my recipe. But, excuseme because I was in a mistake, when I said:"To days before yesterday I leaved some peaks to soak".No, no, please do not do it!.Really I leaved the peaks the night before I cooked the stew.Sorry.
Sandra, I hope that your comment is not the last one, because I like to learn and I should like if you could tell me which themes you think that English people are interested about Spain.
Thanks again and my best greetings for you.

Luis,
I've just eaten a dish of the chickpea stew and it was very tasty. I used a beef stock cube because I have run out of vegetable stock cubes and so the stew turned out a darker colour than yours. I've put a photo on the 'General Forum' under the title ' Luis's chickpea stew' so you can see for yourself how it turned out.
I am pleased that you found my comments about your English helpful.
I should be ashamed of picking you up on your mistakes, because I speak no Spanish that is of any real use. I know that you are trying to learn/improve your English and that is why I did it.
You have tried various subjects to interest people, my favourites are the 'Spanish sayings' and the food related ones. The 'fish market ' was particularly enjoyable because you added comments on how you prepare and cook the fish in Spain.
Now that you have confirmed that it is OK to correct your English mistakes I will try and do it more regularly.
Here goes:-
"because I was in a mistake" = because I made a mistake
"I leaved the peaks" = I left the peas
