A buen servicio, mal galardón = To good service, bad prize
This saying is used against ingratitude, because, with it, ungrateful people --who are asked for making a favour-- always pay.Perhaps it happens cause of what Diderot said: "El agradecimiento es una carga y todos tienden a librarse de las cargas" = "Gratitude is a load (burden) and everybody use to get rid of loads".
