Abad = Abbot : From the accusative "Abbatem" of the latin word "Abbas", that comes from the word "Abba", in Aramaic, which means: Father.It came to us through the Christian Religion and it for us means: the most important authority of a congregation of monks.From there comes the word "Abadía", from the Latin "Abbatia".Another word, "Abadejo", is related to Abadía, because Abadejo was a kind of fish, similar than cod, that was eaten, by monks, in Monasteries.
Abrir = Open : From the Latin, "Aperire" = open, discover.Coming from the Indoeuropeo "Ap = fuera = out; and: Wer = cubrir = cover.Wer, in German = Wehren = defender; in English: "Warn" = advertir; in French: "Garir" = defender and "Warantir"; and, from there, it comes, in Spanish: "Garante" and "Garantía".
