Holidaymakers stranded in México and Dominican Republic as Orizonia goes into receivership

OVER 30 Spanish students are stranded in the Riviera Maya area of México due to their tour operator, Orizonia, going into receivership. The company, which is the majority shareholder of Solplan, the firm which manages the package holiday, called in the creditors on Friday. But the tourists, who are all physiotherapy students at the Rey Juan Carlos I University in Alcorcón (Madrid), have been ordered by the hotel to pay 1,000 US dollars to be allowed to leave the premises.
