Minister of Justice: “I've never tried cannabis”

SPAIN'S minister of justice was asked in the middle of a parliament meeting if he had ever smoked hash, and categorically stated he had not. The subject of legalising marijuana as a way of clawing back more taxes was under discussion at the time, and minister Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón has always been dead against the idea. “Without wanting to go into personal details, I've had very painful and very close to home examples of drug-use and, as a consequence of trivialising a drug that does not kill, many young people start with it and end up somewhere along the line taking other drugs which do, in fact, kill – and some of those young people do not survive,” Ruiz-Gallardón stressed.
