Our planned dinner on Sunday night at the newly opened Hotel Don Manuel in Fuente de la Higuera was cancelled by the hotel because they'd run out of food. 300 diners had shown up at lunchtime and scoffed the lot!
We were already togged up and ready, so where could we go?
I suggested we try another new-ish restaurant that we didn't know -
BOMBAY SPICE in Calle Nueva, Ronda.
This is a Bangladeshi Restaurant, something quite new for the City of the Tajo.
We'd heard good reviews from friends, so that's where we went.

Introduction
We arrived at 8.00 pm and were quickly seated. I asked the waiter which language he preferred, Spanish or English?
"Hindi", he replied with a straight face, which quickly broke into a smile. "A Bengali with a sense of humour, eh?" I quipped.
The restaurant was light and airy and quite unlike the Indian restaurants of Longsight in Manchester or Walsall near Birmingham which I patronised as a student 50 years before.
No carpeted walls, no sticky floors, no pictures of India / Pakistan / Bangladesh and no terrible Asian background music.

Instead, the walls were painted off-white, the pictures were of Andalusian sites, like Granada and Seville, and the music was Western.
The waiters were not wearing stuffy tunics, but standard waiter-wear, black.
Our meal
We ordered cerveza 0.0% tostada to drink and got down to studying the extensive menu. I quickly decided but Rita needed longer.
We ordered two poppadums, onion bhajis, chapatti with garlic to start.
We also had a spicy chicken dish to share.
As main courses Rita chose a mixed Biryani with beef, pork and prawns and I opted for a vegetable Biryani.

When the food started to arrive they brought three poppadums - one more than ordered - with dips of mango chutney, yoghurt with mint and an onion mixture. Delicious!
The spicy chicken was not small and we got four onion bhajis and four chapattis. All were good. Our Biryanis were huge. I got through most of mine but Rita left a lot of rice.
We were well-sated and had no room for a dessert.
The bill came to slightly over 53 euros which I made up to 58 euros to include a tip.
It won't be long before we go here again, I suspect.
