Hi,
I am coming to Spain next week and have an appointment with a lawyer to sort out the Wealth Tax for non residents. Does anyone know what I have to take with me. I am assuming deeds, bank statement and passport. Is there anything else?

Do we also have to pay a spanish equivalent of our council tax? How do we do that?

I don't know for definite but a copy of your NIE number might be worth taking.

I believe that the equivelant of council tax is IBI & you have to go to the town hall to sort that out.

I would check the other threads as I understood that the wealth tax was voted out earlier this year, so you would only need to pay it if you completed on a property up to and including 2007.  

its probably worth checking out other threads on both Thalassa and the general forum.

Hi 

your solciitor shoudl have given you a tick list for what to take we have done ours 

re rubblsh tax the orginal solciotr should have sorted this wcih we are waiting for details of and organised standing order

I dont personally remember giving anything over for this but it was a while ago

at present it is only tals on phasing out for our area
