we are due to close soon , we are in block 5  would be  glad of any information

We bought insurance for our apartments through our local bank in Almerimar, Cajamar. So that is one place for you to try. Or the bank of your choice, perhaps where you are getting a mortgage.

Another place is Almerimar Insurance who have a small office around the back of Porto Fino on the road up towards Nautico restaurant. You can find news of them opening their office on almerimar24 at

Or you could try Linea Directa (Direct Line) who are based in Malaga and speak English. I tried to put in a link but it keeps going to an error page. Best to just type Linea Directa into Google, go to the home page and hit the in English button at the top.

I got a very good quote from Intasure   +44 (0)845 111 0680 you can find them on the web also - they insure based on the square metre size of the property - I tried a couple of others and they were more expensive for the same cover.  They are all english speaking including the claims department - and if you are renting out they cover the costs relocating guests if the apartment is flooded or burnt down etc...  A grim thought but you have to cover all possibilities....
