Can anyone tell us what has to be done to allow a delivery to your apartment?

We know a key is held at security (?) but do we have to email custmer sevices and also provide the delivery company with written (email?) permission to use our key?

Thanks.

Hi Jan

Thats a good question as I have been thinking about this one.  If I am correct someone on the forum said we get 6 months free keyholding, then a discounted price for the remaining 6 months, but no one in pw has contacted me?  Is there a perticular department we contact?

Hi All,
You contact Customer Service by e-mail and let them know when the delivery is taking place, you have to give them written authorizi

ation, you also have to let the delivery people know that they are picking up the key from Polaris. Polaris will only give them the key they will not go with them to the property. I have been dealing with Nieves in customer services and I found her to be very good.

Thank you Margaret that's very helpful.
I know this is not to do with this thread but does that contact information apply to getting the water and electric turned on too?

Hi folks,

If you 'sign up' to PW free 6 month free key holding service, your front door key is held in the customer services portacabin complex. As stated previously on this thread, when you know your furniture order is ready for delivery, you phone and fax customer services with details of furniture company name and when they expect to drop your gear off.

We were told PW will ensure builder's supply of elect & water is switched on prior to delivery guys arrival, but I don't think it would do any harm to mention this in fax/phone call if required.

If during your snagging/buying visit you know roughly when your furniture/white goods/etc will be delivered, you can go to the customer services building (portacabin) and sign a form that will pre-authorise your furniture company to access yor property. If you already know the date, fill it in on the form, if you don't know the date of delivery yet, all they need is a phone call nearer the time to let them know your guys will be arriving.

Me and Mrs welshwizard were told by our furniture company (in Torrevieja) they had been denied access a few times as PW are getting more and more strict about giving customer's keys out "willy-nilly". Needless to say, the team of 6 furniture delivery guys/electricians and air-con fitters in the lorry were not happy about wasting 4 hours of their day driving from Torrevieja to CDA and back again, especially if it turns to be your fault because you did not tell PW about the arival.................ooops!

In the 7 days we were there last week, we spoke to several owners who's properties had been left not only unlocked, but physically wide open after deliveries had been made or workmen had been inside their apartments.

I guess we as apartment owners shouldn't grumble about PW tightening up on this. If you want me to be honest,  I'm glad PW are taking the security aspect seriously, but it does mean owners might have to phone/fax a few times in the days prior to the actual delivery date to ensue everyone out there knows what they want to happen and on what dates.

WW

Thanks for that info WW.

It looks like we will have to think carefully before letting all different people into the apartment maybe arrange for deliveries the same time we are out there.

Hi Mr&Mrs WW,

Like you would prefer the Fort Knox to the Open all Hours attitude.  This is my retirement home (when my hubby allows me to retire, not for at least 20 years or so) and I would like it to be looked after and guarded.

Bit concerned to hear that apartments have been left wide open- has anyone gone back to lock them up I wonder or is the door just been shut by a neighbour? I like the fact that Polaris are keeping tabs on who takes the keys but its not much use if the doors aren't locked after delivery or after work has been done.

Its a useful service though- but will have to have a think about it now.

thanks to everyone for the information.

I emailed PW to let them know lighting is being installed and to give access to keys to apartment.

They sent me a form to complete and return for authorization, just need to let them know date, name etc, was quite straight forward and I feel secure about who they are letting in.

Thanks Karen.

We're happy Polaris monitor who has the keys and we are likely to have only one delivery just before we arrive so a note to them about securing the apartment, with the written permission from us,  before they leave should do it. Think its a real bonus Polaris do this as you can at least get some basics in and have a clean done.

It worked back in 2008 because it was the keyholder who accessed those keys, locked up and returned them, with no problems encountered.
