White paint

Hi all
just returned from completing and viewing our apartment. (jardin 1 no 0114) We noticed two of our neighbours had a fab cream awning on their pergolas on the terrace which was almost invisible when folded back but would provide a roof over it when extended.  It was really tasteful and would survive the moutain breezes better than a parasol. Any ideas or suggestions?  Or if you are that neighbuor please tell us where you got it!

The awning costs just short of £800 from Homestyle.  Not sure how much the sides are.
