Landlord Wants Us Out 6 Weeks Into 6 month Contract

Hi I have just read the replies to a messege I sent in Oct 07.It is nice to hear there are more people who have bought in los collados. I have now completed on our appartment in los collados bajo, and have had the keys since Dec.07. We have been over a few times the outdoor areas are begining to look a little tidier. I am pleased withour appartment. This is a lovely part of Spain with some fantastic bays/ beaches. It would be lovely to hear of anybody elses experiences.

I'm an owner of an apartment in los collados golf. I completed in July but never had the chance to go in person. Has the general area improved? Have they started work on the commercial area and the mini-golf? If you have pictures, I would love to have a copy.

We've got an apartment on Collado Golf (Phase 2- up the mountain and round the bend tucked away). My understanding is that the Pitch & Putt is still awaiting approval and the commercial centre currently being built will now contain the Spa which was going to be a separate building near Collado Golf. Finished next year?

Going over in two weeks time if anyone wants any information or photos.

I was there at the beginning of July and the commercial centre was well under way. There was still  building going on in los collados alto and sol so it was still dusty. We have had our community meeting  so I am hoping things will improve soon with the green and communal areas.The pitch and put looked no different  and I was hoping that the golf course would have progressed but it hasn't. I am going back on Thursday with friends for the weekend so will be able to update you then. When are you planning on going again? I love the area as it is so unspoilt  with lovely beaches and bays.I hope it stays that way. I will try to send photo's but I am rubbish at technology!

Yes, photos of phase 3 (up to the hill), green area, entrance and commercial centre would be great.

I have had a fantastic weekend in Aguilas.Too much to eat , too much to drink and a weeks worth of sunbathing into 3 days!! My friends really loved it and can't wait to go back again. They loved the appartment and the resort. I did take some photos but don't know how to send them. I will try. The commercial center does not seem to have moved on a lot since I was there in July, and the pitch and put or 9 hole golf couse?? still looks like wasteland. I am not sure what has come of the 18 hole fortuna golf course, maybe someone can enlighten me about this.The green areas in los collados golf are looking better but a lot of the green areas still need a lot of work. I am not sure where your appt is Joseph as I thought up the hill was los collados sol. We still had a great time and can't wait to return.

Thank you for the pictures. The green area looks nice. The plants just need to mature and it will look better. My apartment is actually by the hill. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Carolyn, good to know the resort is taking shape at last. I really can't understand why the pitch and putt can't be finished. Have you seen the video of Los Collados showing what the resort should look like when it's finished? It's a long way off that yet but it will be good when it's complete. I'll send you the link if you haven't seen it.

We're going over next week so I hope you have you left some sun for us!

Joseph, we are in Collado Golf phase 3 (up the hill). If you give me some idea where your apartment is I will take some photos of it and the immediate area. I will take some photos of the pool and gardens anyway.

I would love to see the video please I didn't know there was one. I am sure you will see plenty of sun there it was really hot when we were there last weekend. You are bound to see a lot more of it than here!!  Lucky you Have a great time .

It would be great if you could meet see at Mar Y Casas (I think they have an office onsite) and ask them what is going on with the mini-golf and what facilities will be avaiable in the commercial centre. I emailed them several times but had no answer.

Can someone recommend a good furniture company that does light fittings as well?

We used homeplanners  at  murcia furniture, who were very efficient and did furniture, bedding,lighting,kitchen equipment bathroom fittings,curtainsand poles etc.We were really pleased with them,but if you look on the internet there are quite a few companies that do this. We had to haggle with them to get what we wanted and what we didn't want. and it worked really well.

There used to be one I think it was called furniture plus, but I don't think it is there anymore. It used to be on the industrial estate.We looked in there but the furniture was like a mexican pine and not what I wanted. Much to my Husbands disgust as it was quite reasonably priced! I am not sure if they have relocated. I think Mar Y Cassas do a package too.

Hi, we have an apartment on Las Dunas de Cope and we went to Ikea in Murcia and got all our furniture, crockery, bedding, everything and light fittings delivered  quite cheaply from there: The delivery was a bit problematic as we had not taken our full address and post code with us but the sales assistant in Ikea was amazingly helpful and we got sorted eventually.   I think using Ikea was cheaper than the furniture pack and although from a chain store,  gave us the option to have something that is more individual than a furniture pack (if you email me I will happily send you some photos)

We got Rich from Oasis to organise an electrician to install all light fittings and were more than happy with the work done, Rich also organised a decorator to paint the walls of our apartment, someone to install a window in the laverdero and the air conditioning and again all work was done on time, to specified cost and to a good standard.

We bought our headboard from San Jose Muebles in Aguilas and were impressed with the help in the shop and prompt delivery - promised for 10 the next morning and thats exactly to the minute when it arrived - great quality but a bit expensive.
(Spanish is essential in this shop, we have a great picture dictionary with a picture of a headboard and the word in Spanish, did we take it with us? course not...)

For lamps and a few unusual bits we  went to Mojaccar Playa and there is a really nice "ethnic" sort of shop called "Batur"  in the Commerical Centre that does lamps, ornaments etc. The bar opposite the commercial centre had double canopied beds on the beach - great for a chilled wine after shopping)

The Portajo garden centre on the way to Lorca has great roof/balcony furniture but is a bit pricey for plants -they also have a nice donkey who appreciates a carrot/apple and a tickle behind the ears worth going just for this.

Furniture Plus has now been taken over by Hannibals, not sure if it is the same firm under a different name.

Fionn suggested seeing the other postings (they have been a bit more heated of late) and I agree it would be useful to look at how all the residents can unite to get some of the final niggles resolved, we bought in Nov 2006 and there has been no work on the mini golf in that time?
