We use the Banco halifax espania based in Mazarron or should that now be Lloyds TSB Halifax Banco Espania.
We've always had good service from them and all the staff speak very good English, especially Michaela who is English.
Transfers from english halifax bank accounts are free and you get a good deal on currency exchange.

Hi Maverick
I use Banco Halifax too haven't had a problem with them.

Hi All,
We have also gone with Banco Hailfax. Agree with all previous comments made - no problems so far with them & fee free transfers if you get a Halifax account in UK, which we have now done too. With the Xtra account you don't need to keep a min amount in either - after the initial opening up (where you need to put in €600).

Hiya,.
We took advice from Stonephil and opened up account with Solbank. All speak English you can apply when you are there or on line, take a look at their website.
You need your passport and details of your property, both passports if you want to open a joint one. They then will ask you to put an amount in there what ever you like but its handy to start putting in and topping it up as you go for the electricity etc.
They also have a branch in london, so you then can do internet banking or we are going to do a regular transfer.
I already had a Banco popular account but I get paperwork in Spanish so gonna close that one.
Hope it helps Ruth & Peter& Krystal
