Help - advice required

Hi,

We are Dave and Alison from Leeds, and signed up to buy a bungalow in Block 7 in January 2007.

The bungalow was finished in February 2008 ahead of schedule (by a month) and we were hoping to have completed the purchase by May 2008

However initially problems with a mortgage from a Spanish bank fell through, we applied for a second, which we have recently accepted.

We are due to complete by 11/10/08, however have now come across another obstacle in the form of the Habitation licence. As you will know the developer applies for this to the Town Hall and ours was applied for in April however has not yet been issued. The bank will not complete without it and time is running out - my question is to anyone who has obtained this licence (specifically block 7), how long it took to obtain, and who obtained it for you, and any other information/advice or help would be appreciated.

The habitation licence is not issued on an individual basis. It is normally issued block by block.

Anybody who has completed on block 7 has done so without the habitation licence.

Some lenders will complete without it and some will not.

You can not be forced to complete without it.

We purchased from Taray in Balsicas, signed and collected keys in November 2007, collected Certifcate of Habitation in May 2008 from Taray Office in San Javier.
