Thanks (or not) to Ash for the new name, and as for me then I resemble those remarks but i could have swore it was nearer 5am in that pool !!.............. and jeez it was bracing
.
Carol, you're a star, but you got a business to run as well !............... Great to see Ash, Tom, Rob, Chris, Trace, Mike H, Mr & Mrs WW, Mr & Mrs Alhama Gardener, Mr & Mrs Jake, the 2 fire lads................ gawd I'm crap at names and I know they'll be a few I've missed off there !!
21'c here today and glorious sunshine, been out watching the lad play footy and have caught the sun, all i caught in Spain was a chill.
I can recommend the Rioja, the champagne, the beer, the donner meat and chips with chili, tomato and mayonnaise sauce from Camposol, the little cafe at Camposol (Quiche, cauliflower cheese and a strawberry milkshake !), can't recommend Ikea food, can recommend the hot ciabatta baguette in the Condado shop, perfect warmed up in the toaster (sliced) with some pate, cheese, ham and mustard............ also the fresh pizzas from the shop go down well at 4am !
Directions - Debbie Payton's directions from San Javier airport to Condado are absolutely spot on, its 75km exactly and takes 1 hour exactly if you stick to the speed limits............ but watch the speed limits at the end of the RM2 (radar on the signs, and the OB waiting for you off the exit roads......... didn't catch me tho, not saying who they did catch !).
Shopping, 5 days looking then 1 mad day spending. I'll list what i bought as everyone seems to have struck out on their own, eventually you have to just make the decision and buy, as someone will always get something better and cheaper than you c'est la vie.
Beds - 1x full kingsize, 2x 190 x 90's and 2 x 190 x 80's along with good quality sprung mattresses (those foam ones which seem so popular in Spain just don't do it for me) from z-beds at Camposol. Bases are raised and 'covered' and legs are slightly recessed in at the corners meaning you can brush underneath, and you won't catch your legs on the sides of the base or stub your toes (the size 11 plates i have means this is an issue)......... i knew exactly what i wanted and got it. €2103 the lot.
Garden furniture - For the front terrace - a 6 seater aluminium table in powder coated white with 6 textaline chairs and large wind up parasol, along with 2 seater rattan chair, 2 single seater rattan chairs and rattan coffee table for €1115 from z-beds. Also bought a rattan 4 seater table and chairs from Gines Navarro for the back terrace for €500
Sofas - 3 seater and 2 seater brown leather sofas from z-beds for €1620 - this was my impulse purchase !
White Goods - Zanussi full size brushed steel fridge freezer and dishwasher, white Daewo microwave, white Romanoff (?)washing machine and Panasonic 32" Flat screen from Gine Navorro for €2050.
Lights - €208 from Brico on Camposol. 3 outside white flush lanterns, 6 x 2 spots for 2 bedrooms and lounge, 3 spot for small bedroom, 4 spot for kitchen, 2 round flush shades for bathroom and hall, and single spot for above bathroom mirror.
Bits - €250 from Brico got silver shower screen, double towel rail, towel holding shelf, 3 tier holder for bath stuff, 2 long curtain poles and 2 short curtain poles.
Guttering - agree that it needs doing as the water flies out from above otherwise.
Still plenty of bits to buy to finish off, Ikea will be 1st place i visit in Jan/Feb to get everything else.
Loads of choices, when driving round you see furniture shop after furniture shop, and you can't look in em all.........
I need a holiday as well as I'm knackered
And finally, I am so glad I booked an apartment to stay in instead of roughing it in mine, as it was Weds after arriving Sunday before I got my apartment open, there had been a mix up at the Notary and they had sent me the wrong keys !!........... mañana
