Hi Lucy, we are the neighbours on Jardine 2 that Geoff mentioned and we had the same problem as Geoff - we also found out from Snaggit Murcia just a day before we went for a visit 3 weeks ago. Both Snaggit and ourselves rang PW and let them know about the problem and by the time we arrived the following evening it was all done - they had cleaned the mould, repainted the affected wall and were in the process of redoing the solarium stairs so they do react quite quickly. We have partially furnished our apartment and there was no sign of any damage to anything (only the usual dust). There wasn't even a smell of damp so I was really pleased.
We did find some other issues which they hadn't completed from our first snagging list so sent a note to PW when we came back (Oct 18th) and have had a reply to say all these are done.
If your problem is only the leak on the side wall go ahead with your furniture delivery - ask them to put stuff in the living room area or the bedrooms.
I never have a problem getting in touch with PW - although you need at least 2 chase e-mails to get a response but I always get an answer from the Customer Services no. 00 34 968 012090.
Good Luck

Hi,
Reading the threads here, it appears the damp is around the solaruim stairs area and leaking into the appartment from there. Can somebody tell me how this is actually leaking through, is it from the side stairway or from the actual top and coming in through the roof?
Regards
Phil

Hi Michelle,Paul,Lucy & Phil,
In our case, the water leak seems to be coming from the steps to the terrace.
The steps I guess are cast as a solid piece of concrete and another guess is that the water is mostly getting in from the gap between the steps and the apartment wall, both at the top of the steps and all the way down the side.
The builders seem to be concentrating on the top 2 or 3 steps first, before they re-tile the rest of the steps.
Unfortunately we were not so lucky and there was quite a lot of water damage in our apartment and the smell of mould was over powering, but the builders are living on site in a mobile home to fix all the leaking steps and replace tiles and plaster board and paint etc. damaged by the water.
We also noticed a lot of water gathering on the terrace at the front door. I hope the builders can fix all this to my satisfaction.
I have photos of the damage and it looks bad enough, but hopefully water damage can look worse than it really is. Best wishes. Geoff

Hi All
Leigh and mate left Monday to drive over. After 23 hrs of driving he was not happy. the key he was given when he signed didnt fit the lock. the kitchen work surfaces had been all scratched, the tiolet was ripped from the floor. Im sure he said water had got under the front door. The walls were soaking, where a cleaner had gone in with a soaking wet cloth to wash the walls down. So after the shock, they had to track Carol down who found them an apartment to stay for the night, THANKS CAROL.
After getting on to Polaris this morning, the work men are in there now putting everything right.
A lot of apartments around ours have stickers on the windows, i think Leigh said it for workmen to go in and repair damage, DONT PANIC EVERYONE, I WILL LET YOU KNOW MORE WHEN HE TELLS ME. Might not be til next tuesday when he gets home and we can talk properly and i can let you know exactly what is going on.
I promise i will keep you all informed as i am told things from Leigh.
He did sound a lot happier when the workmen were there, so im guessing its not as bad as he thought.

Hi Guys
Well PW rang me yesterday at 3.30pm and there was no report in the file about THE MOULD. I had to forward emails from Snagging Co to confirm this. Got an email from PW today saying it had been reported yesterday, 6 days later! So hopefully they are getting their finger out and doing something about it. I'm heading over in 10 days with my elderly parents, but thank god we are staying in another apt.
Doesn't sound good about all the apartments with stickers on them. I'm just worried that them fixing the walls etc is only a short term solution. What will happen when the next bout of rain comes, as its hard to find the source of water.
Hope Leigh's blood pressure hasn't gone to high cos mine has!!

We too are really worried that the work is not finished to a permanent standard and won't happen again, damp reoccurring. PW have still not confirmed to us either that the damp work has been sorted. It's all a bit stressful!!!

Hi
We'e just back yesterday. The stickers are on the apartments that haven't had the snagging done or been handed over. We visted our apartment on tuesday and it had the sticker on it. We went back with Trevor from SnaggitMurcia on the wednesday and the sticker had gone and the builder's clean had been done.
Hope this helps.

Most of the problems with damp are from the Solariam Steps which some have no MEMBANES at all only a coat of Bitumin but Polaris have several teams workingt very hard to rectify the problem , also the drain from the Solariam runs down the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom wardrobes and if this has been damaged you will get damp in the wardrobes, as quite a few have if you need any more info PM me

When you say PW are working hard to fix this problem, are they only doing the ones that are leaking or have they identified the ones that have no membrane and doing the whole lot.

Hi Phil
They are only doing the ones that have been reported by owners and it only shows when it rains hard ( as it has for most of October) , but to give them their due when it is reported they are on the case within a few days.

My apartment is quite badly damaged by a lack of membrane under the steps leading to the terrace.
I have received 5 email,s telling me that the snagging work has been complete, when the truth is that the problems we found during our first snagging visit, are 2000% worse (and I wish I was joking).
I have written emails to PW and sent photos of my apartment which were taken 1 week ago, with huge bits of plaster board cut out from the alcove under the steps in the apartment, which was piled up in the middle of the living room area. And yet, when I phoned customer services today, they told me that all the snagging work has been completed since October.
There is a HUGE lack of communication between the different departments in Polaris world and seemingly NO communication at all, between the builders and the different departments at Polaris world.
I know the work in my apartment is far from finished, yet I'm being told that it was finished well over a Month ago. All signs point to PW not knowing what's going on and I'm gonna phone them at least twice a day until they can tell me when it's gonna be finished as it's crystal clear to me that PW left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
I don't mind the fact that there has been a mistake made by PW, in the form of a lack of the membrane under the outside steps,as I know PW are gonna fix it eventually and hopefully to my satisfaction. But It's becoming very annoying and extremely frustrating for me that they are telling me over and over that the computer says that the work was finished at least 6 weeks ago, yet I have photos from last week that prove that the work is not finished and even if it was finished now,it's gonna take over a week to air the apartment to get rid of the strong smell of mould.
I'm gonna enjoy contacting PW every day by phone, at least twice a day, until they find out and tell me 'exactly' what condition my apartment is in, so I can eventually book flights to go to Murcia and buy furniture and white goods for my apartment.
I can't believe their unprofessionalism. It's a really becoming a joke. Geoff.

We are in exactly the same situation as you guys so totally understand your frustration, anger and upset. When we found our mould/damage etc. last month when given the keys - don't understand how they never saw it, work was started on repairing it straight away. We had to come home half way through the work being completed and have been emailed PW the last month and also received an email saying that 'all snagging was complete' when we know it hasn't been sorted. PW have not been responding to our emails and actually sent one email saying that they only had one person dealing with customer services emails and that we had to be patient. We were fuming and sent back a very unhappy email. To date we still do not know if our work has been repaired and what standard our appartment is in. All our furniture is already in! We are flying out next month to sort out. We are very unhappy with the lack of communication from PW. Hope you manage to get it all sorted. Andrea & Paul, Jardin 1

Hi Andrea and Paul, I am also experiencing the same as you in the form of no response to my emails,so I'm gonna try and make them become more aware of my situation, by harassing them on the phone every day until they find out useful information for me. I notice that is quite a common problem in Jardine 1 & 2 as I'm in Jardine 2 and I know others who have the same problem in Jardine 1 & 2. I'm confident that it will be sorted out,but I'm also frustrated about the lack of knowledge about the damage at PW and the lack of communication from PW. I'm thinking it might be an idea to employ the services of snagitmurcia to check on the progress of the apartment as they are there on-site. I Hope you get an answer from PW soon. Geoff.

Hi
We can understand all the previous comments and concerns.
We still haven't got our aircon problem sorted after numerous phonecalls and much frustration. Polaris finally admitted that there was a fault with our preinstallation about a month ago after trying to blame faulty air con equipment. We got a call on Friday to say the problem had finally been rectified. When Polarair went out yesterday, he found that although they had changed the wiring, our pipework seems to feed into the next door apartment, so it hadn't been repaired.
Then on Monday, we found out we had the dreaded damp as well.
We completed at the beginning of August and have been reluctant to furnish the apartment until the problems have been rectified.

Hi guys
Having seen the posts below I would like to propose an additional service for clients if they require it.
We would be happy to take on the chasing and resolution of the later half of the snagging process for clients who have compleed their own snagging for a cost of 150 euro's plus VAT. For this fee we would visit the property initially and check against the initial Polaris snagging report and then chase all outstanding items that have not been rectified. If we find any obvious additional items such as damp or mould during the inspection we will then report these to the after sales team on site and ensure that Polaris resolve these in a timely manner. Obviously we will update clients on our progress and the outcome of the initial inspection.
If anybody would be interested in this service then please send a mail to emma@snagitmurcia.co.uk and I will send the required authorisation form.
Thank you

To update on our leak............Snaggitmurcia made a second inspection yesterday and the initial feedback is that Polaris have remedied the leak!
There has also been a fair amount of rain recently which has been good to test the repairs and all seems to be holding well.
Trevor & Emma have been great and we would highly recommend them.
As our COH was sent on to us on 7 November it looks like we are finally ready to agree a completion date.

Like you - we have had a call to say our mould problem has been sorted. We are out on Tuesday so we will see for ourselves whether the work has been done. I'm pleased that there has been a lot of rain lately so we can test the repairs.

Fingers cross for you for Tuesday. We're sure it's all teething troubles and we'll laugh about this in the end...just hopefully not from a padded cell!
