Hi

We attended the community meeting last Friday. Most of the discussion took place in Spanish and translated by Darren the President. Some of the matters discussed were as follows:-

Security is an issue with 3 break-ins within Altea Hills (not Jardines) in the last week after 4 years without problems. We are asked to ensure that when using the main gates outside Jardines that other vehicles do not come in or out whilst the gates are open eg wait until gates closed before driving away. The area around the swimming pool is seen as vulnerable and it is suggested that security cameras are fitted in this area. Anyone fitting an alarm could have it linked to the onsite security.

Everyone can collect a remote fob for the main gates by contacting the Ballester office. The gates are unlocked daily from 7.30am - 8.30pm and later in the summer.

The postal boxes are now full of mud, Ballester will not replace them so it was suggested they are filled in at residents expense.

It is hoped the quarterly community charge can be reduced next year. There are still a large amount of debtors (40,000 euros)among residents and they are being contacted. Ultimately if debts remain unpaid court action will be taken.

The plants/grass around pool have been replanted with more soil. The grass was cut too short previously. A suggestion was made to instal a sprinkler system for watering.

It was agreed that plants will be planted in front of all the ground floor apartments.

A resident has asked about covering their terrace with a glass structure. Plans were to be submitted and agreed by the community.

Any problems with the building should be reported to the community whilst individual problems with apartments should go to Ballester.

It was suggested that a childs play area be built on the ground next to A block. Concerns were raised about the terrain and noise. Plans are to be submitted to the community.

This is everything we can remember but hopefully we will get minutes from the community.

best wishes

Nigel and Marian

Hi There,

Thank you for all the info. Its worrying about the break - ins and as you say a good idea that we are aware of other cars when coming through the large gates.

I cant quite get my head around us paying out to have the wall made good by the letter boxes. They have been a rusty mess from the word go and were never going to be usable.

I also cant believe that there are debtors I dont understand it unless they are residents who are very unhappy about things.

We are out again next weekend and will keep our ears to the ground for more info.

all the best,

Gilly and John

Hi Gerry

There is no charge for the fob and it can be collected from an office that is located within the old supermarket near the hotel. Alternatively call in to the Ballester sales office by the fountain.

thanks

They key fob that is the "zapper" for the Altea Hills side gates immediately in front of Jardines - is available free of charge from the main security gate at the Altea Hills entrance. If you lose it, then you have to pay for it's replacement.
