January sales in Murcia

Hi folks, just wondering if anyone knows what the January sales are like in the furniture and electrical stores around Murcia?  We are currently looking at furniture for our 3 bed appartment and were wondering if we would be better off waiting until January? One shop there told us the norm in that area is to have a sale in July and none in January. He told me they actually put their prices up in January. Is this just sales talk to get my order now, or is it true?

I have a friend who has had a holiday home over there for years now and she only replaces furniture when the January sales are on. I unfortunately couldn't wait that long to buy mine, but she has told me the spanish only have one sale per year, not like here where sales seems to be every month and theres are genuine sales with up to 50% off.  So good luck.

You must have read my mind. I was also going to ask the same question about the SALES

Have have friends living in northern spain  in Pontevedra and also in Majorca. In pontravedra they have small sales but they only last about a week to ten days and very rarely hapen in majorca except in the summer. neither friend new about price rises in january but both said it could vairy from region  to region or town to town,

I think the best people to ask are those who have lived in the area for some time.

I am going to telephon PW customer services tomorrow , there is bound to be some one who will know what hapens.

The sales generally start after the 3 kings fiesta which is held on the 6th Jan. Dragontours are running a Sales Shopping day trip to Nueva Condomina, Thader & Ikea on 15th Jan. The joy of going on the coach is all the space underneath the coach for all those LARGE purchases.

After furnishing non stop for the last few days we came back to an email from Polaris Homestyle doing all your furniture for under €4000, Homestyle is always worth having a look at, they are not as expensive on some items as people think.

I too rang PW and was told that there are very good Sales in January & that all shops have Sales

Home Style wa also mentioned to me, so as we are going out on the 18th of January  we hope all the best bargains have not gone by then.

Hi All

Just read that the Murcia region commerce advisary board have agreed by a majority vote to bring the sales date forward for this year.  They now start on the 2nd January instead of the 7th.  It seems that in Spain, as Ali mentioned, this is the sales period of the year and all shops have to adhere to the same date. They are hoping this date, before the 3 kings, will encourage people to buy more  Shame we've already spent most of ours

If the sales in Spain start the beginning of January, when do they actually finish. I' hoping to buy in Ikea ready for when we complete early Feb so it looks like I might miss all the bargains. Does anyone know if Ikea are actually having a sale.?
