For those who have been over recently, has there been any improvement on the bins to put out your rubbish?  When we went out to furnish in Nov, there was no option other than to pile the cardboard boxes by the small bins in the carpark.  OK, the van man came round daily and took them away, but wont be ideal when it gets windy.

Also, for general household rubbish, we used carrier bags to collect this, but the bins in the car parks were not ideal for placing the bags in due to the small apperture on the top.  Would not want bags of old food leaving by the bins as a recipe for attracting vermin.

Anyone else had similar observations, or just me?  Felt like having one of those plastic skip things with the sliding lid at the end of each carpark would have been a better option

Martin

Hi Fozzie

As far as we are aware the household rubbish along with cardboard /glass bottles  etc go in the applicable shutes , the small bins about  the areas are just for  litter. This is the case on all the polaris sites.

OK.  What and where are these "shutes"?  I must have missed something when I was there by the sounds of things

Thanks

Hi Martin,

These are the rubbish bins -

DSCF2460 by you.

In Naranjos they seem to all be on the road behind each block, in Jardines they are ( the one I saw ) on the main road between the apartments and the golf course.

Hi Martin

They are along the inner ring road , there seems to be  selection for each Jardine , these are colour coded dependent on rubbish , and recycling.

Does anyone know which rubbish you put in which bin? The are colour coded, but which colour is for which rubbish?

I assume the larger bin that stands by itself is for general waste.

Next time anyone is in La Torre they should take a look, the bins there are not only colour coded, but also state what they are for - I remember seeing it, but can't remember which colours were which (Duh!!) Think it was Glass, Paper/Cardboard, Organic and General - but which is which!! Sorry, not very helpful I know.

Hi All

Pending Polaris World fixing Labels to bins here is the colour code:

Yellow - Plastic Bottles

Green - Glass

Blue - Paper and Card

Silver Swing Bin - Household Waste

Bins in Car Parks are for litter

We have asked for these to be labbled but await action.

Happy New Year

Mick

Thanks thats a great help.

We'll have to print this off and leave it in the apartment so we remember next time we are over there.
