I know this has been covered before but due to the poor exchange rate then furniture packages are suddenly becoming quite expensive.
Do any of you know of any cheap deals available at the minute or are they any of you over in spain with ears to the ground who have seen any good deals.
Suddenly costing a fortune to furnish a place.
I would have thought that due to the credit crunch then prices would have been coming down but this seems to be the opposite.

Steve, Have a look at the classified ads on "Eye on Spain", "Manilva Life" and other Spanish websites. Several people have cancelled contracts after having bought their furniture and are selling complete packages at a reduced price.

Hi,
I Have had furniture in storage in Estepona for over a year ready to move into my apartment on phase 1, only a couple of weeks ago i cancelled, i have been told by my solicitor this is possible, If things go to plan with the cancellation I will be in the position to sell my furniture, there is absolutely everything you could ever need, all new and very stylist, there are brown leather sofas ( One becomes an extra double bed, this cost 1 k alone ) I have all new light fitting, paint, pictures, rugs, beds, beding, tools inc ( small outside storage box ) I`m sure we even bought a hose, there is also power tools and battery drills, travel cot, sun loungers, all the kitchen stuff, i did go totally over the top and spent about 6-7 k and tried to think of every single item we would need as I wanted to use it as a second home.
If it helps I am a 30 year old male from Chester in the uk, so this may help to imagine the furniture choosen, I do also have a bill of about £1500 at Murry Harper @ Estepona, I am a business man and if it put sminds at rest i would be willing to meet in Spain to sort the whole transaction.
If anyone is interested please reply and i will see what i can sort out.
Thanks for your time
Tony

Hi Freddie,
Like you said its not good, I am pulling out because the Money i can get back from spain just with my deposit would give me an extra £10000.00 more than i sent out few years ago because of the exchange rate, also my worries are i would probably be paying more than the property would be valued at, i was not doing it to make money but i`m not willing to loose a chunk of my hard earned cash. Me and my wife are gutted as it was perfect to get away with our 4 year old son, the only thing was i went into this with my brother and neither of us were sure what to do, we are both into contruction and properties in the uk so we have experience in these situations.
Hope this has not made you worry more about your choice, it is really nice there and at the moment we may even buy off the same complex once its all cancelled.
Thanks
Tony

Hi Freddie,
We were in block 9, dont know that much about the whole complex but i gather 10 is very close, nothing passes me by, its got the largest pool, its is such a shame it never completed a long time ago.
You do wish I was still going to have a place on that complex and i do hope i can purchase another at the correct value, whatever that maybe.
Me and my brother went to all different areas of spain inc the Alicante areas and I have to say Dequesa is such a nice place, my business partner has had a villa about an hour the other way from Malaga in Torrox I think, I have stayed there and its a good feeling relaxing i something thats not just your normal holiday hotel. As I said i do hope to sort a place there again, its mad that we walked around our completed property with an american from the sale office about 18 months ago and it was complete.
Good luck
Tony

The second paragraph down, that is ( I DO WISH ) NOT YOU WISH, thats me being better at construction than a typest and i have just polished off a bottle of wine, see all is not that bad in the uk.
Its snowing and its cold, and i need to work, and the beech is about 1 hour away, and the waters cold and dirty.

I have also decided to cancel. I am gutted as I really like the development but although I didn't buy totally as an investment it doesn't make sense for me to proceed in the present circumstances.
The irony is that if the development had completed when it should have I would have been well established there by now. It also bothers me being in a development less than half full as this must bring its own problems with regard running costs, atmosphere etc. But there again those that are in now seem to love it.
I haven't ruled out taking another look some months down the line as I like the area so much.
Alan

I Have a feeling that some contracts dont have the clause of a bak guarantee and others have hence different stories.
I have been tempted to pull out but will hang in a little longer the place is nice and residents that are in are happy with it all and are very friendly.
Good luck to all
