Hi Christine  Welcome to the forum! 

There plenty of value for money shops about, but at the moment the euro isn't helping though.  Campasol is only 5 mins down the road which is an English Urbanization it has most things.  A good Brica  which is a sort of B&Q.       Ikea, Primark etc is about 35 mins away and there are some good places on the way to Mazaron it just depends on what you are looking for!

May i ask where you are sailing to and from as I might drive down with some friends later in the year so I am just interested.

Where is your apartment Jardines, Narajos or the Penthouses?      I'm out in March so maybe we might meet?

We drove over in October in a truck, hope you are aware the toll roads will set u back best part of 200 euro. 

When are you arriving? We are out next week, 16 to 23rd.

There is lots of info on her about where to buy cheap stuff and where is good etc, just have to browse through all the threads.

I did the drive last Summer, Manchester to Murcia and back in 5 days! It was exhausting! Rented a large ong wheel base Mercedes Sprinter van and came through the tunnel. My diesel bill was about £500, The Tunnel was around £120 and I paid about £200 in toals. However I feel its the best way of doing things. I spent 4 months shopping every weekend in the UK before, loading up the van and dropping everything off.

That way I was able to fly to Spain the following weekend and relax, knowing I had everything I needed!
